Meet Our Trainer

Nick grew up in Wisconsin with a passion for dog sledding. After graduating High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a Paratrooper and Combat Infantryman with the 82nd Airborne Division. After being honorably discharged, he worked as a U.S. Government contractor for more than five years until an injury while working overseas forced him leave.

After recovering, Nick decided to follow his passion for working with dogs. He spent roughly six months apprenticing under a balanced Dog Trainer, which pushed him to start Klaus K-9 Training LLC and continue his education with dog training. Using his GI Bill, Nick attended the prestigous Tom Rose School in St. Louis, Missouri, where he completed both the Professional Dog Trainer and Master Dog Trainer programs in 2022. The Tom Rose School is one of the oldest dog training institutes in the USA. Nick was the first student in his Master Dog Trainer Class to complete the required I.G.P II Tracking and Field Searches with his dog Yuka.

After graduating, Nick worked for a non profit organization that trains service dogs for Veterans as a Service Dog Trainer. Also while simultaneously running Klaus K-9 Training LLC. This gave him valuable hands-on experience training service dogs and teaching other trainers.

In 2026, Nick and his dog Yuka became Ultimate Air Dogs Regional Dock Diving Champions in the Ultimate Elite Division. Nick is very passionate about training and competing in dog sports.
